Climbing Specific Physiotherapy

With Level 2 National Coaching Certification for gymnastics; Certification with the International Sports Sciences Association as a fitness trainer; post graduate education in climbing specific anatomy and injuries and finger training physiology Rachel Rubin-Sargania, PT is uniquely qualified to offer Climbing Specific Physiotherapy. She has competition climbing experience both as an athlete and as a coach, as well as extensive experience climbing outdoors in various locations across Canada and the US.

Rachel is passionate about helping climbers recover after an injury, improve performance, and prevent future injury through combining her climbing background with her physiotherapy education. She offers climbing-specific physiotherapy appointments at Scotia Physiotherapy’s satellite clinics within Seven Bays Bouldering, Bayers Lake and East Peak Climbing Gym, Halifax NS. Assessments and treatments are individualized for each climber based on their current climbing abilities, injury, and climbing-related goals.

The initial assessment will consist of a series of questions about your health history, injuries, climbing/training background, and climbing/training related goals, followed by an assessment of your current injury, climbing-specific strength, and mobility. Follow-up appointments will involve a combination of physiotherapy treatments, supervised exercises programs, and continuous guidance on climbing and exercise progression to help patients meet their rehab and climbing goals.

Contact Rachel with any questions.
